The RTL financially supports the AUTAL
The sum of $2,465 was collected during two days of free bus services during the Holidays
Longueuil, Monday, February 11th, 2013 – During its February 7th, 2013 Board of Directors’ meeting, the RTL presented a cheque in the amount of $2,465.92 to the Association des usagers du transport adapté de Longueuil (AUTAL). This amount was collected during free bus services offered on December 24th and 31st, 2012.
AUTAL is an organization that has as its mission to defend and promote the rights and interests of the disabled using the Réseau de transport de Longueuil’s paratransit services.
Each year, since 2003, the RTL invites its customers to make a cash donation during free bus services offered on December 24th and 31st. The total amount collected is given to an organization actively involved in improving the quality of life of the residents living on its territory.
About the RTL
The Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL) is the third public transit organization in importance in Québec with a territory serving the five cities in the Longueuil agglomeration, or 282.4 km2. It serves a population of almost 406,000, and makes more than 139,000 trips each day. A survey done in 2010 showed a customer satisfaction rate of 94%.
In 2011, the RTL had a record year in traffic with 33.8 million regular service trips. Being the 4th most important employer in the Longueuil agglomeration with 1,032 employees, the RTL is a major player in the region’s economic vitality. With its mission to increase the quality of life of the citizens on its territory by meeting their always evolving transportation needs, the RTL invests a lot of efforts in assuring that its fleet of over 400 buses is reliable.
