The Board of Directors adopts the fare-free day My weekends riding the RTL

Longueuil, September 4th, 2014 – On Sunday, September 28th next, the population of the Longueuil agglomeration will be able to travel for free on the territory served by the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL) during My weekends riding the RTL.

The RTL’s Board of Directors endorsed this special day with a view to inform the public about the better services offered during weekends since August 25th last, to encourage people to use public transit for their weekends trips and to promote sustainable mobility.

“Public transit is not only a way to avoid congestion during rush hours between the work place and the home, it is also ideal to do some errands, for family outings and for recreational activities.  Sunday, September 28th is a day to promote and raise awareness to encourage the use of our weekend services and Family Privilege offered since last July. To better meet the needs of our clientele and to develop more efficient, faster and more flexible services is at the center of our Vision d’ensemble!  On Sunday, September 28th, come and try it, it’s free!” declared Colette Éthier, President of the RTL’s Board of Directors.
This innovative concept replaces the Agence métropolitaine de transport (AMT) En ville sans ma voiture day.
