The RTL will hold a public consultation in Boucherville about a section of the new agglomeration rapid transit network
Longueuil, November 19, 2014 – The Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL) is announcing that a public consultation on the implementation of priority measures for buses on de Mortagne Boulevard in Boucherville will be held on December 2 at 7 p.m. at de Mortagne high school.
“We are currently developing a new rapid transit network to improve public transportation within the Longueuil agglomeration territory,” says Guy Benedetti, Chief Executive Officer of the RTL. “To do so, we are proposing the implementation of priority measures for buses, including reserved lanes and priority lights, on dedicated lanes.”
These implementation measures will be entirely financed by the government of Quebec and are scheduled to be completed before December 31, 2016, in order to respect the timeline defined by the ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ).
“In addition to informing citizens about the new rapid service, the public consultations launched today will allow us to assess their concerns and gather their suggestions in order to develop design plans for the project,” says Mr. Benedetti. The final plans for the agglomeration rapid transit network will be subjected to another public consultation during the winter of 2015.
