The Web to better serve our customers
Longueuil, July 7th, 2014 – To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL), the President of the RTL, Colette Éthier, announced the creation of a Facebook page as well as a corporate Twitter account which will greatly increase opportunities to inform and exchange with its customers and partners.
This Web upgrade is in line with the commitment to better serve the customers and is one of the main orientations of the Overall View 2013-2022. The corporate Twitter account will be: “RTL_Longueuil”, and the Facebook page will be: “LongueuilRTL”.
The RTL_info Twitter account will continue to broadcast information pertaining to the network such as disturbances, delays and detours. “Since close to half the population of Québec is on Facebook, that 1 out of 10 Quebecers uses Twitter and since social media is available anywhere with a computer or a smart phone, the RTL had to adopt the Web and adapt its communication strategy to meet public needs.
With an accrued presence on the Web, the RTL reinforces its commitment to be even more in touch with its customers”, said Colette Éthier. “We will be able to exchange with our customers and major players, increase the visibility of the services available throughout the territory, offer more detailed information and updates to commuters and attract more people to use public transit. We will post images, news, information on transportation, all this while continuing broadcasting notices to commuters.
We will maintain an ongoing conversation with the commuters and each platform will be used according to its specific characteristics. We want to communicate more and to better communicate” added the President of the RTL.
In the coming weeks and months, other platforms will be added such a YouTube account and another Twitter account staffed by the RTL’s Customer Service. “Starting today, we invite you to follow us by adopting our page in order to keep on top of the latest news” concluded Colette Éthier.
