RTL AU PRIMAIRE - FREE TRAVEL DURING SCHOOL TRIPS
Longueuil, March 20, 2017 - Building on the success of its RTL au primaire program in over 70 schools, the RTL is pleased to renew and expand its partnership with the three school boards in the Agglomération de Longueuil: Commission scolaire des Patriotes (CSP), Riverside School Board (RSB), and Commission scolaire Marie-Victorin (CSMV). Offered since 2008, this program allows elementary school students, along with their teacher, to travel on RTL buses outside of peak hours for their field trips, completely free of charge.
“This school program is helping us to build up our next generation of public transit users. The earlier young people use public transit, the more likely they are to become regular users of this means of sustainable transportation. It’s a win-win situation!” declared Colette Éthier, Chairman of the RTL Board of Directors.
The goal of the RTL au primaire program, which is very popular with the participating schools and school boards, is to encourage elementary school students to adopt sustainable transportation habits that will help them to reduce their ecological footprint while still having fun.
