The SMART CARD: electronic fare collection at boarding

The OPUS card will allow its partners to reduce fraud and to draw a better profile of service requirements, which will in turn enable then to better adapt their services and offer customers new fare options.

The OPUS card can hold several types of fares. Once it’s fully implemented, it will replace the monthly passes and tickets. Its use will also considerably decrease the number of transfers issued, since transfers are automatically encoded on the OPUS card whether you need one or not.

The OPUS card is also an ID card since it can bear its owner’s photo (if eligible for reduced or intermediate fares).
