For REGULAR FARE riders
The OPUS card will be gradually implemented in 2008 (see implementation schedule)

This rechargeable

OPUS card
is good for 4 years.

As the transit fares of the project’s partners become available at outlets, points of sale and automated fare dispensers, (see implementation schedule), you will be able to code your usual fares on your OPUS card.

The OPUS card is anonymous when it is not registered. It contains no personal information (name, address, telephone no., etc.) and can be used by anyone who finds it.

The Opus card will also allow you to encode up to 4 different types of fares, e.g.:
Monthly
RTL fare
STM
tickets
STL
tickets
or
Monthly
RTL fare
RTL
tickets
or
TRAM
RTL
tickets
or
1 type of fare of your choice
etc.

At the end of, 2008 all RTL transit fares will be sold on the OPUS card
and in 2009, the fares of all the project’s partners will also be on the card.

Note that fares can be paid cash (exact change) even after the implementation period.
