DÉFI SANS AUTO SOLO: RTL IN LINE TO KEEP ITS TITLE!

Longueuil, September 15, 2016 – For the third year in a row, the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL) will promote sustainable methods of transportation by once again participating in the Défi sans auto solo, an initiative of the Association des Centres de gestion des déplacements du Québec.

Winner of the “Large entreprise” category for the metropolitan Montréal area in 2015, the RTL specifically encourages its employees, all citizens, the various organizations within the Agglomération, and their employees to take on the challenge by using a method of transportation other than solo driving on Wednesday, September 21.

“This annual challenge is a way for our organization to reaffirm its commitment to sustainable transportation. Sustainable mobility is part of the RTL’s main mission, which is why I am encouraging not only our staff, but all residents to pull together again this year!,” declared Colette Éthier, Chairman of the RTL Board of Directors.

The RTL is planning several awareness-raising activities to encourage employees to participate in the Défi and make a real change in their habits by switching to sustainable methods of transportation year round. The RTL is also asking participants to invite their family and friends to register for the Défi sans auto solo. Other than public transit, participants have several options: carpooling, cycling, rollerblading, walking, or a combination of sustainable methods. To make commuting easier, the RTL has made a mobile site and trip calculator available to users.

To participate, register before September 21 at defisansauto.com.
