FREE TRANSIT FOR DELIVERY PERSONS ON RTL TERRITORY
Longueuil, May 31, 2017 – The Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL) is proud announce that it will offer free transit for one year to the three people who deliver the L’Itinéraire newspaper to the locations permitted by the cities in the Agglomération de Longueuil. This will allow them to ride the RTL’s buses for free to their various drop-off points, thus helping to boost sales of the newspaper.
“We care very deeply about the issue of homelessness, which is why we’re proud to support an organization whose mission is to create employment for homeless people and help them to reintegrate back into society. I wish to thank the Executive Director of L’Itinéraire, Luc Desjardins, as well as the coordinator of the Table Itinérance Rive-Sud (TIRS), Marco Carpinteyro, for initiating this partnership,” declared Colette Éthier, Chairman of the RTL Board of Directors.
Founded in 1994, L’Itinéraire is a street newspaper that promotes the social reintegration of homeless or unemployed people. The organization spearheads social economy projects aimed at increasing the autonomy, knowledge, and employability of people experiencing problems related to marginalization and homelessness.
