“DE L’AUTO AU BUS” AD CAMPAIGN WINS AWARDS
Longueuil, November 27, 2018 - The Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL) is proud to announce that its “De l’auto au bus” (“Make the switch from your car to the bus”) campaign took home two awards at the Office québécois de la langue française’s Gala des Mérites du français.
For her clever and original use of the French language in this advertising campaign, Isabelle Nault of Ogilvy Montréal was awarded the Mérite Francopub – Bourse Serges-Tougas and the Mérite Francopub du public last Thursday.
“Congratulations to Ogilvy on this campaign. Even though there are many good reasons to use public transit, from avoiding traffic to reducing greenhouse gases, we’re seeing more and more cars on the road these days. Let’s make the switch from our cars to the bus!” urged Pierre Brodeur, Chairman of the RTL Board of Directors.
Advertisements began appearing on RTL bus shelters and buses last spring. The campaign capitalizes on the rising popularity of public transit by encouraging people to think about the disadvantages of driving compared to taking the bus. If we compare the total trips between January and September 2018 to those of the same period last year, the RTL has seen a 2.54% increase in ridership across its regular network.
