CONTACT+ INFORMS RTL PARATRANSIT USERS OF VEHICLE’S IMMINENT ARRIVAL

Longueuil, November 1, 2019 - The Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL) is taking its communications with paratransit users to the next level by implementing phase 2 of the new automated call system CONTACT+. Users will now be informed of the imminent arrival of their vehicle a few minutes before their scheduled departure time.

“This is excellent news for our users, who can now get peace of mind with one phone call confirming that their transport is on the way,” stated Pierre Brodeur, Chairman of the RTL Board of Directors.
Starting mid-November, users will receive a phone call, or, optionally, a text message or an email confirming their trip.

The advent of 100% real-time information in our paratransit vehicles, as a result of the installation of global positioning systems (GPS) and SOFCAB terminals, has greatly improved the services offered to our users. We will also be able to collect data about the trips, which will be very useful for improving the user experience.

The RTL uses proven technology to communicate with paratransit users. Phase 1 of Contact+ consisted in introducing the automated phone call the night before a scheduled trip, and around mid December the third and final phase of the project will inform users of their boarding time during that call.
