Details on delays for users at the Downtown terminal

Longueuil, July 19, 2019 - The Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL) wishes to reassure users about the delays experienced at the Downtown terminal.

In early July, our network was affected by significant delays in the downtown corridor and on the South Shore. The RTL felt the impacts of major traffic issues, including accidents and the Mercier Bridge closure. These obstacles created delays for our users, which were compounded by unpleasant conditions for our users and drivers related to the intense heat. Since then, steps have been taken with our partners to ensure better circulation on our network. For example, SPVM officers have been stationed since last week at strategic locations at the entrance and exit of the Downtown terminal, which has sped things up considerably.

The RTL is aware of the inconveniences for users. We monitor routes and traffic situations on a daily basis and, along with our partners, respond as quickly as possible to better serve our users. Other measures could be put into place. Unfortunately, we are at the mercy of traffic and unexpected events. Finally, since last year, air conditioning has been installed on all new RTL buses.
