FIFTEEN NEW MINIBUSES: IMPROVED COMFORT FOR PARATRANSIT USERS

Longueuil, September 3, 2019 - The Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL), in collaboration with Transdev, is modernizing its fleet of minibuses for paratransit users. Seven new vehicles will be in service starting this week, and the entire fleet will be upgraded by the end of 2019. These new minibuses will offer several new features for improved user comfort.

“Ultimately, we will have fifteen new paratransit vehicles. We’re attentive to feedback from our users, and their satisfaction is important to us. We decided that renewing our agreement with our supplier was the perfect opportunity to upgrade our vehicles,” stated Pierre Brodeur, Chairman of the RTL Board of Directors.

The model chosen by our supplier Transdev and approved by the RTL has larger windows and better interior lighting. The vehicle is also quieter and has a more efficient heating and air conditioning system. The platform lift will have a higher weight capacity, and a new device will allow walkers to be strapped down inside the vehicle. The leaf-spring suspension (instead of air) will also provide better stability.

Francis Duval, Division Manager, Transdev; Pierre Gagnon, COO, Transdev; Michel Veilleux, Executive Director, RTL; Nancy Decelles, member of the RTL Board of Directors and paratransit user representative; Pierre Brodeur, Chairman of the RTL Board of Directors; and Juan Duran, Maintenance Director-Québec, Transdev.
