NEW PRESSURE TACTICS BY TAXI DRIVERS MAJOR IMPACTS EXPECTED ON RTL’S PARATRANSIT, SHARED TAXI AND RTL À LA DEMANDE SERVICES

Longueuil, April 4, 2019 - The new pressure tactics announced by the taxi industry for Friday, April 5, will have major repercussions on the Réseau de transport de Longueuil’s (RTL) paratransit, shared taxi and RTL à la demande services.

Expected impacts:

PARATRANSIT SERVICE

Due to the expected pressure tactics, the RTL will give priority to trips for work and medical appointments. Users should nevertheless expect delays.

SHARED TAXI SERVICE

We are forced to cancel our shared taxi service for April 5.

RTL À LA DEMANDE

We are forced to cancel our RTL à la demande service for April 5.

“This situation—and the inconvenience for our users—is regrettable. We recommend that users of our paratransit, shared taxi and RTL à la demande services plan their trips accordingly. We are monitoring the situation closely in order to limit the impacts on our users as much as possible,” explained Michel Veilleux, Executive Director of the RTL.
