RTL PULLS BUSES FOR SAFETY REASONS
Longueuil, March 21, 2019 - Due to a power steering problem in certain models of Nova Bus hybrid buses delivered between 2017 and 2019, the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL) has taken these buses off the road for emergency inspections.
This decision will affect the service provided to RTL users starting Friday morning. Each vehicle will be thoroughly inspected and put back into service once it has been declared roadworthy. Buses that fail the inspection will be repaired by our maintenance teams.
“For the safety of our users and our drivers, we made the quick decision to pull the problem vehicles off the road,” stated Michel Veilleux, Executive Director of the RTL. “The buses will be repaired as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we are asking users to be patient over the next few days.”
