THE RTL INTRODUCES ITS 2020 BUDGET

Longueuil, November 29, 2019 – The Réseau de transport de Longueuil’s (RTL) 2020 budget was adopted at a special meeting of the Agglomération de Longueuil council held on November 28 and open to the public. The budget for the coming year stands at $205 million.

The council also approved the RTL’s capital works program, including its three-year plan (TYP). The capital investments planned for the period of 2020-2029 will total more than $1.04 billion and are conditional on the projects’ eligibility for various government funding programs.

“In the coming years, the RTL will invest a significant amount of money to improve the user experience and respond to the new mobility needs within the Agglomération,” explained Pierre Brodeur, Chairman of the RTL Board of Directors. “This new budget guarantees the sustainability of the service adjustments made in 2019. The RTL’s Board of Directors also earmarked funds for service improvements, which will take effect in early 2020.”
