COVID-19 - 15 users on buses

Longueuil, April 9, 2020 – Amid the COVID-19 pandemic and in response to the government’s recommendations on physical distancing, the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL) is implementing a new temporary measure to protect its users. Effective immediately, a maximum of 15 passengers will be allowed on buses.

“As mentioned recently, we are monitoring the situation closely and considering all comments received from our users. Since cutting down on our service, not only have we been making continuous adjustments in order to meet users’ needs, but we are now implementing this measure, which will remain in effect until further notice, in order to protect our users and employees,” said Michel Veilleux, Executive Director of the RTL.

Additional buses will be standing by in the event users are unable to board a bus. Prior to introducing this new measure, the RTL’s operations team identified the sectors most likely to become overloaded.
