RTL BACK-TO-SCHOOL SERVICE

Longueuil, 2020-08-14 – The Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL) wishes to remind users of changes to its service effective Monday, August 24. This new schedule includes the return of certain school lines (with some changes) and the addition of new ones.

The new school lines are:
• Lines 601, 602, 604, 605, 607 and 609 serving École secondaire de l'Agora in Greenfield Park; and
• Lines 631, 632, 633, 634 and 635 serving École secondaire de Mortagne in Boucherville.

While some lines will not be reinstated, students can still use the RTL’s regular bus lines to get to school:
  • Removal of line 501► the alternative is line 1;
  • Removal of line 504 the alternative is line 4;
  • Removal of line 506 the alternatives are lines 6 and 13;
  • Removal of line 603 the alternatives are lines 1 and 3;
  • Removal of line 621 the alternative is line 21;
  • Removal of line 622 the alternative is line 29;
  • Removal of line 626 the alternative is line 16;
  • Removal of line 628 the alternative is line 74.
Lines 681, 682 and 683 from Boucherville to Cégep Édouard-Montpetit will not be operating. Students can use the RTL’s regular lines to get to school, namely line 161 from the Montarville terminal or lines 8, 28, 88, 410 or 417 from the Longueuil terminal.
 
Among the other changes made to the school service, line 608 will operate only in the afternoon. The alternative is line 8. Only one morning departure is scheduled for line 618, and students can use line 13.
 
Note that for students who wish to obtain or renew their reduced-fare OPUS card, the school tour that usually takes place in many schools throughout the Agglomération will not be held this year. New procedures have been put in place, and full details are available on the RTL website.
As a reminder, several other changes will take effect on Monday, August 24:

The following lines will be in service:
1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 25, 28, 29, 32, 34, 35, 39, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 47, 49, 50, 54, 55, 59, 60, 61, 71, 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 80, 81, 83, 84, 88, 90, 98, 99, 121, 123, 125, 132, 161, 170.177, 180, 185, 410, 417, T20, T21, T22, T48, T77, T89, T92 and T93.
The following lines will not be in service: 2, 9, 30, 31, 33, 37, 38, 46, 82, 85, 86, 87, 91, 92, 106, 115, 120, 128, 135, 142, 144, 150, 192, 199, T18, T19, T23, T90 and T94.
 
The reduction in service across the network is the result of the current COVID-19 pandemic and the drop in ridership. However, the RTL will monitor the situation closely over the next few weeks, adjusting its service as best possible in response to users’ needs and ridership.

Note that paper schedules will not be available. Users can follow the RTL website for information about the changes to schedules and routes.
