RTL TO PUT 25 NEW HYBRID BUSES INTO SERVICE

Longueuil, January 30, 2020 – The Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL) is announcing that 25 new hybrid buses will be put into service in the coming months. With the addition of these vehicles and the arrival of the electric midibuses, the RTL continues to modernize its fleet.

Fifteen of these Nova Bus vehicles will be added to the RTL’s current fleet and ten will replace buses at the end of their useful life. The new buses will be equipped with modern polymer seats, larger windows, and a 100% electric air conditioning and auxiliary heating system.

“Since 2014, hybrid technology has been the pillar of our fleet renewal strategy and a mainstay of the Agglomération de Longueuil’s Vision en transport en commun 2025, which also calls for the addition of fully electric buses in the coming years,” added Jonathan Tabarah, Chairman of the RTL Board of Directors.

With the addition of these buses, the RTL’s fleet will now be comprised of more than 38% hybrid vehicles. These buses will help maintain optimal service delivery for our users. In total, forty new hybrid buses will be added to the fleet in 2020.
