RTL TO CONSULT PUBLIC ON PROPOSED NEW NETWORK UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30: MORE THAN 6,000 VISITS TO THE SITE
Longueuil, September 16, 2021 – The Réseau de transport de Longueuil’s online consultation site has had more than 6,000 visits since being launched in early June. The overwhelming participation by the citizens of the Agglomération de Longueuil attests to their interest in using public transit. Users can still weigh in until September 30 on the proposed new network that will accompany the arrival of the REM.
Here are a few interesting statistics on the online consultation platform:
- More than 6,200 visits since it went live in June 2021;
- More than 4,000 documents and maps downloaded;
- Close to 700 contributions and comments received.
You can weigh in any time on the platform until September 30 at www.consultationrtl.ca. Afterwards, the website will remain online for users to consult documentation and information about the proposal.
Two public consultations were also held virtually on September 8 and 9. More than 100 participants found out about the proposed new network and had the opportunity to discuss it with RTL representatives for each sector. Participants could weigh in on the various proposals made by the RTL and ask questions.
“These consultations are an opportunity to gauge the public’s enthusiasm and support for the proposed network and to identify improvements to ensure that it meets the concerns and priorities of RTL users. The active participation of citizens attests to the relevance of this exercise. The discussions held during the public consultations were productive, and we invite residents of the Agglomération to continue weighing in on the proposal until September 30,” said Jonathan Tabarah, Chairman of the RTL Board of Directors.
At the end of the consultation phase, the RTL will fine-tune the scenarios presented before unveiling its new network based on the feedback received. The improvements will be implemented gradually, starting in 2022, with the goal of offering efficient, flexible service, while prioritizing the successful integration of the REM on the South Shore.
